How it works

Every sticker is something your child really did.

It starts with a first full game at the kitchen table and ends, years from now, with a passport full of proof: tactics learned, checkmates delivered, tournaments played, medals won.

For children 5 to 12. Every sticker in it was earned. Every one has a story the child can tell.

The passport

An app keeps score on a server. The chess passport keeps it in a book your child can hold, show and keep.

It looks like a real passport. Your child's name goes on the identity page, and the grown-up who hands it over signs as the issuer.

Six levels take the child through the whole chess journey. Each level has 24 grey shadows waiting for their stickers, and a medal at the end.

Three kinds of stickers

Chess Skills

What your child can do on the board. They learn it, practice it and prove it on the website.

Activities

What your child does. A first full game, a team event, a friend taught to play. A parent, coach or teacher who was there confirms it.

Achievements

What your child reaches. A tournament win, a first rating, all the way up to a national podium. A grown-up confirms it, often straight from the results list.

Each sticker's page says exactly what counts, so the child knows what to aim for and the grown-up knows what to confirm.

At home or in a club

At home

The home set is the passport, the sticker book with every sticker, and the interactive training online. When your child passes a Chess Skill on the website, they find the same sticker in the book and cover its grey shadow.

Activities and Achievements come from you, one at a time, when you saw it happen.

In a club

Each child keeps their own passport. The coach keeps the stickers and hands one over when it is earned, often after a test sheet.

At home the child keeps training online with their own account.

On the website

WHIZ

The website works on its own, book or no book. The sticker for each Chess Skill waits faded on the level page. When your child passes as White and as Black, it turns to full color: WHIZ.

CHAMPION

LEGEND

Finish everything in the topic and it becomes CHAMPION. Get every answer right and it becomes LEGEND, each level with its own animation.

Puzzles also earn artifacts. In the Bank they become coins, and coins buy boards, avatars and small surprises in the Market. Coins are never for sale; they are earned.

An account keeps the stickers, the coins and the progress. A child creates it at home with a parent, and nobody can contact your child through the site: no chat, no ads.

The medals

The book and the website count differently

In the book, any 16 of a level's 24 stickers earn the medal sticker for the Medals page. Online, the level's medal takes its color when every Chess Skill on the level is in color.

Metal medals

We also have a metal medal for each completed level. Optional.

The six level medals

Nobody fills a passport in a week. It is built to take years, and to still be on the shelf when the child is grown.
