Your club or school team has won a team tournament, and you played at least one game.

What is Team Gold?

The last game ends, the points are added up, and your team is on top. A team tournament has many teams, many rounds and one winner. You played at a board for your club or school, and your game counted for the team.

How the points add up

The Team Player sticker explains how team points work. For the gold, your team must be in first place after the last round.

Play for the team

Check the match score before you play, because it shows how your team is doing in this round. The Team Player sticker shows what to do when your team is ahead or behind. Be at your board on time. An empty chair gives the other team a point without a game. And cheer for your teammates quietly, away from the boards.

Where the gold is played

First, ask a grown-up whether your school or club has a team. Schools play against other schools, and clubs play in leagues and in one-day team cups. Some countries hold a national team championship for kids. If there is no team yet, four players and a grown-up can start one.

How you get the sticker

Your grown-up or coach checks it and hands you the sticker. Show the final standings with your team on top, and show your name on the team list. The captain or coach can say that you played. If you have no club, a school team counts the same. Your grown-up at home checks the standings. Did you win a team tournament before you had the passport? It still counts. Find the old standings, or ask the captain.
